(The title says it all)

I have "closed" this question because things have changed; see Exhortation: Do not mark anything “community wiki”.

Change is good, right?

There is one minor [ahem] quirk with community wiki questions: The Questions - newest tab does not show the author icon / "asked xx hours ago" information. That information DOES show up in the Questions - active tab. Don't know why, don't know where else it does/does not show up. The software is still the best thing since Google IMO!!! – Breck Carter♦ Nov 13 at 13:59

If you're not sure, then no.

The "community wiki" designation means fewer points are dished out by the SQLA software, and everyone needs points in order to use SQLA effectively... it's not just for bragging rights.

I marked this question "community wiki", and now that I think about it, that was a mistake. And it looks like it's one of those things you cannot undo.

At this point, I want people to get points faster than they do at StackOverflow. In fact, I am hoping to offer "bounties" on questions as a way of shovelling my points out into the community. Don't call it altruism, it's enlightened self-interest, I want SQLA to succeed... and the administrator don't need no steenking points :)

Breck, in case your question/answer arose from my "meta" question, then of course I will take your advice and try to catch some points - by means of this dummy answer:)

But what I' like to know is: does something special happen to questions (or answers, if applicable) marked as community wiki? Is there (or will be) really some kind of wiki?

The difference is that community wiki questions / answers can be edited by other users with 100 rep. To edit other users questions and answers that are not marked community wiki, you need 2000 rep. – Graeme Perrow Nov 19 at 15:24
